North Sea Tote Canvas Bag

The North Sea began as a collection of fine art photography by Tom Bing taken from within the waters of the North East Coast. The exhibition explores and captures the tranquil moments every dedicated sea-user experiences.Tom teamed up with Newcastle based sign writer Ashley Willerton to design an exhibition window splash to celebrate the body of work. As a legacy of the exhibition and the window splash Tom and Ashley wanted to give the project more permanence, the simple motif and idea of 'The North Sea' felt perfect for a tote bag or T-shirt.

In full support of Surfers Against Sewage and the 5p plastic bag charge they were instrumental in introducing, a tote bag seemed logical. Teaming up with Saltburn independent print-maker and surfer Sophie MacIntosh from Hey Ho Print Co, the bags became a reality. A perfect, DIY, grassroots piece of useful merchandise celebrating the region we are all so proud of. The bags are printed onto high quality recycled cotton and plastic tote bags.
